Auschwitz & Kraków

If you decide to visit Auschwitz, you should think about extending your trip to the former capital of Poland – Kraków. In contrast to Warsaw, Kraków remained almost untouched after the World War II and is now considered the most beautiful Polish city, with a vast number of both Polish and Jewish monuments and places of interest.

First, in the early morning you will head to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum.

Auschwitz Museum is undoubtely a must see place for everyone. A non-definable icon of genocide and terror that humans have done to humans. The Nazi German extermination camp existed  there between 1940 and 1945. Over 1 500 000 people were killed, mostly Jewish, but also Polish, Russian, Gypsy and others. Such memorials as wooden barracks, gas chambers and a collection of shoes stolen from prisoners give you an opportunity to understand the anatomy of evil. What is really important, the whole museum, together with its staff and guides, creates a perfect background for this difficult history lesson. Expect to see both the Auschwitz forced labor camp as well as Birkenau extermination site. You will be assisted by a local, English-speaking guide. Tickets for a documentary movie at the camp are included.

During the second part of our day tour we will take you to the historical city of Kraków – the essence of Poland, its tradition and history. One of the most beautiful European cities, that miracolously survived the last war, hosts thousands of tourists every day. You definitely need a local guide there with a real insider feeling. The iconic Wawel Hill – the residence of Polish kings, the Old Town and its medieval “shopping mall” – the Cloth Hall, St. Mary’s Basilica with tremendous stained glass windows and the gothic, wooden altar created by Wit Stwosz – everything can be reached within a few hours with the help of RealPoland’s guide and a driver. Kraków is famous for the best restaurants serving traditional Polish food – you will have an opportunity to try one of them during your lunch break.

Please prepare for a full day tour, we start early in the morning and come back to Warsaw around midnight. RealPoland drivers speak fluent English and they are always able to help you. Entrance tickets, guides, travel insurance and road fees are all included in the price.
